WRITTEN PRESCRIPTIONS
Written prescriptions are available upon request from the practice for a fee of £28.80. Please allow 48 hours for your written prescription to be issued. If you are using an online pharmacy, we are required to send an electronic prescription directly to the pharmacy. We may need your order number to do this.
If you are using a human pharmacy, we can provide you with a hard copy of the prescription which you can collect from the practice, or we can post it to you.
Written prescriptions are valid for 6 months from issue and must be used within this time. Written prescriptions for controlled drugs are valid for 28 days.
Written prescriptions can only be issued by a veterinary surgeon at their discretion, and only when they have examined the animal within six months of the request. Animals examined outside of this time frame must have a prescription medication check before the prescription can be issued. The charge for a prescription medication check is £45.60.
